Shakespeare : The Tempest

Hand made in Italy by Loepp and Nagai

Unique, inscribed posy rings and jewellery have existed since the Egyptian dynasties. Often featuring prayers and stories, unique rings were worn as a symbol of status and wealth.

David Loepp and Yutaka Nagai inscribe the verse on each ring as done so by the original artist.  Each ring is sterling silver with a matte finish enhancing the incised black patina and is presented with a parchment copy of the original manuscript.

It is spoken by the magician Prospero. He has made a large group of spirits vanish and is reminding his daughter, Ferdinand, and her fiancé that the dramatic entertainment is not real. He highlights the fact that earthly possessions, being riches and titles, are merely temporary, which they have placed too much emphasis on. We are made of what dreams are made on and our lives are constantly rounded with sleep.
