Leopardi : L'infinito

Hand made in Italy by Loepp and Nagai

Unique, inscribed posy rings and jewellery have existed since the Egyptian dynasties. Often featuring prayers and stories, unique rings were worn as a symbol of status and wealth.

David Loepp and Yutaka Nagai inscribe the verse on each ring as done so by the original artist.  Each ring is sterling silver with a matte finish enhancing the incised black patina and is presented with a parchment copy of the original manuscript.

Leopardi’s highest expression of poetry is reached in The Infinite.

He narrates an experience he has while sitting on a secluded hill near Recanati  on the east coast of Italy. In this silence, his thoughts are able to imagine spaces without limits. With a gust of wind, he hears a voice simultaneously evoking all times past, present and eternity. His thoughts are overwhelmed. "il naufragar m'è dolce in questo mare" expresses how he would love to be shipwrecked in this sea and drown in the sweet thoughts that have overcome him all at once.
